Keir
Keir was picked up as a stray by Dallas Animal Control, and when he was not reclaimed he was released to Westie Rescue on December 9, 2004. When he was vetted, it was determined he was five or six years old and had two problems requiring special care and attention. He had cataracts in both eyes with impaired vision and skin issues with seborrhea. Keir went into foster care with Lezlie Blythe and her nine-month-old Westie puppy, Connor, on December 22 and never left after making a special place in their home and hearts. He was a sweet boy who was little hindered by his poor vision and soon learned to make his way around the yard by following the fence line and navigate the house by brushing his head against obstacles then moving around them. In April 2009, a malignant tumor become visible in Keir’s nose, and despite surgery and follow-up treatments, it grew and spread. Keir crossed the Rainbow Bridge in Lezlie’s arms on November 11, 2009. He will be in her heart forever. Webmaster's note: Keir was the companion of our special friend Lezlie Blythe of Highlander Steele Pet Accessories. Highlander-Steele is dedicated to contributing to animal-related causes, particularly pet rescue and adoption. May God, who heals the sick, defends the vulnerable, cares for the poor, and liberates all creation from suffering and injustice, bring us all to that peaceable kingdom when all creatures shall live in harmony and all suffering shall be transformed into joy.
